PGS Gets More 3D Survey Work Offshore Africa

PGS has netted a 3D exploration acquisition contract offshore Africa from an unnamed client.

Ramform Titan Class vessel should mobilize for the four- to five-month survey in the fourth quarter, subject to final approvals.

“There is increasing exploration interest in Africa, and this award builds on the recent success of our Titan class vessels in this region,” said president and CEO Rune Olav Pedersen.

Ramform Victory was due to sail to Brazil for a large 4D contract survey for Petrobras this quarter, but there appears to be a further delay in receiving permits for the survey. So the voyage to Brazil has been moved to early fourth quarter, with the vessel initially acquiring data on a separate pre-funded multiclient program until all permits are in place for the Petrobras job.

Mobilization for that program should take place toward year-end 2023, with an unchanged contract scope.
