Tunisian Foreign Minister Nabil Ammar met on Tuesday with the US Ambassador to Tunisia, Joey Hood, and the US Envoy/ Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland.
A statement by the Tunisian Foreign Ministry said the developments on the political track in Libya were among the topics discussed.
During the meeting, the Tunisian FM affirmed his country’s position on the need for an inter-Libyan solution “within a framework of consensus and with Libyan ownership and leadership under the UN auspices.”
For their part, the US officials praised Tunisia’s “positive role” in advancing the political track in Libya and its hosting of many relevant meetings in the framework of its support for dialogue between the Libyan parties.
